1995 Gold Uncirculated Gold Olympic Reverse Coin Die Set Defaced West Point

Description

This is a cancelled US Mint coinage die for the reverse of the Olympic gold commemorative coins from the US Mint at West Point. Only 33 of these dies were sold and are very difficult to find 25 years after their original sale. Unlike the more recent statehood quarter Coin & Die Sets, this Olympic set does not have the full face ground off. In fact, most of the design remains intact. As a bonus, the design is not rusted and the rest of the dies surfaces are also very clean. The set include the coin die, the protective plastic die cap, original velvet bag, and the certificate of authenticity. No coin is included with this lot.
This would be a great addition to a collection of dies or an advanced modern commemorative coin collection.
