Diameter:
approx. 1.19 in diameter, not too thick at the base, but, sturdy.  Consider this as medium light, not too hefty or heavy.  Love this size.
Bamboo Color
Heated in a kiln to bring out the bamboo its natural oil which also enhances its color.
Sanded the wall including the nodes to make it smooth.
Stained in rich gold honey color created a polished look and to keep its luster and prolong its life.
Wrapped Design Handle
20 inches long.
(2) cords used.  Alternating colors of the dark blue and light blue.
Middle and Top
Wrapped
9 inches of the middle wrap. Serves also as middle handle.
7 inches at the top. Same colors to match.
All wrap ends are tucked in , tied off and glued
Hook
Size
Mustad Hook - Size #3/0 permanently bonded to the bamboo, so it will not twist, shift or rotate.
Hook Guard:
Clear plastic tip guard with carabiner that can be attached on or off.
It will help to reduce of accidental injury and protect from damage to the point.
Butt Cap
Black  bulb butt cap - seals out the bottom from moisture

Bamboo normally floats.
Final Assembly
Applied 3 coats high gloss glaze to accentuate the bamboo's natural personality.
The gaff is flexible and light.
The diameter of the bamboo at the bottom gives a better firm grip on the handle, but, comfortable.
A useful tip: Do not let the gaff stand upright. Always lay it flat when not in use.
The hook point should be covered with the protected sleeve to maintain its sharpness as well as to avoid injury from happening.
